Jura 13339 Impressa Z5 Automatic Coffee/Espresso Center

Jura 13339 Impressa Z5 Automatic Coffee/Espresso CenterI have owned Capresso machines for about the last 8 years or so. Just replaced my Z5. It is expensive but if coffee is important to you, it's worth it.

I can't tell you how much coffee we wasted making a pot at a time the old way. That drove me crazy. Single serve is the way to go. I finally figured out how to make capuchino's with the Z5 and it is so easy! I've got a family of 5 and everyone drinks them now so our machine gets alot of use. I'd venture to say 10 cups a day on average.

We started with a less expensive Capresso model and it worked great but we felt the coffee was not hot enough. We needed more horsepower. The very first Z5 we bought was a lemon and had to be returned. The next one was good for about 3 years until we got the dreaded "Error 8". I did alot of internet research on the best machines available. There was one that seemed very similar to the Z5 but was twice the price. There were others at a lower price but I either did not like the appearance or they did not have all the features. So we stuck with the Z5.

For the more math oriented, here's the way I look at it. If the machine costs $3 grand and lasts 3 years and you make 10 cups of coffee per day, the cost of the machine per cup is under 30 cents each. Then you need to add to that supplies, coffee, water, creamers etc.

Be warned that if you are new to this type of machine it takes some time to master its use.

my hubbie and i have had a jura s9 for 7 years. it was a decent machine, but definitely needed more service as it got older. it was probably sent 3 times in the last three years. two weeks ago, it finally died. rather than pour more money into that one, we decided to splurge and get this machine.

what an upgrade. it makes making coffee, espresso, lattes so effortless. it is very simple, very quiet and beautiful to look at also.

this is a lot of money to spend on something like this, but i drink a cup or two of coffee everyday. i am very frugal by nature, but this machine, so far, has been worth every penny. the best part is being able to make a cup of cappuccino at the push of one button. while we waited for this one to be delivered, dragging out the coffee machine and making a pot of coffee and throwing out half of it, was very frustrating.

the reliability remains to be seen. i will cross my fingers and hope for the best.

I have been using the Z6 for over one year.

As good as anything you had to drink in Switzerland.

High barometric pressure and preinfusion of grounds with water makes for the great crema.

You can customize the drink to your own specifications.

If you can afford it get it. Amortized over the 15 years of life of this device it is an insignificant cost increase and a markedly better cup of coffee every time.

The Z6 is the same mechanicals with a flashier front.

This makes the best coffee I have ever had at home. I have the jura ena5 for decaf and the

Impressa Z5 for regular. I love the ease of use for the Z5 because there is no need to move the cup or wait for steam in order to make capachino and machiatos. It makes a great matte/creama and sometimes I don't even add the milk. I have been getting the message "fill system" ever since I put in a filter. Tryed everything to clear the message, including calling the jura support center. After several calls and doing everthing they suggested to no avail, they said they could replace machine because it is only 90 days since I purchased (Costco for $1700.) The info about replacing machine was wrong! They can only repair it, not replace because they discontinued the Z5 and Z6 models. If I unplug machine for several hours, remove filter and replace water tank without filter the message goes away. Not sure if I will bother sending in for repairs (they pay for all shipping) and just clean the machine using tablets instead of using filter. I'm still deciding about that. The cleaning tablets are cheeper anyway, so I may just do that instead. I do love the coffee and expect to stay with jura expresso machines in spite of problem. Jura customer service told ne the Z7 has replaced the Z5 and Z6 models.

This machine is a must have for all coffee drinkers. Very simple to use, quality coffee in just a few minutes. We compared many machines including the deLonghi and other brands and found this one to be the most simple and lowest maintenance. We have had the machine over a year now and no problems. I recommend getting the flavored syrup from Starbucks they will sell it to you and making your own lattes.

Pros: Cappuccino froth is just like the starbucks machines

Easy to use no hand frothing required

Great tasting coffee even with cheaper low flavored beans provide robust flavor

Has an espresso, coffee, cappuccino, and special coffee button for your special drink as well as a warm milk/frothing option

Cons: Be careful when using oily beans will require frequent cleaning

Does not connect to your main water line for automatic filling

Hot chocolate can't get it quit hot enough

Would highly recommend this machine to anyone even my non-technical/automatic parents.
