Porcelain #2 Coffee Dripper / Filter Cone Plus a Box of 100ct. #2 Coffee Filters

Porcelain #2 Coffee Dripper / Filter Cone Plus a Box of 100ct. #2 Coffee FiltersWe have been using this for two months and haven't looked back. It works quite well with the four holes, and we know we are not getting any plastic by-products that could be potentially transferred from the other kinds of coffee drippers. Love the unbleached coffee filters as well. Will be ordering a second.

This coffee dripper works great for the times when you are making one or two cups of coffee. A simple functional item.

Nothing complicated with this product, it works as advertised and as expected. Here is a detail: it features four holes.

Coffee pours down quickly through 3 holes. I prefer one hole.

I also prefer thinner porcelain.

It sits well over certain size cup only.

Want Porcelain #2 Coffee Dripper / Filter Cone Plus a Box of 100ct. #2 Coffee Filters Discount?

Porcelain itself is fine, but big issue with this size is that the bottom lip that rests on your coffee cup while brewing is not quite large enough around. So for any but a smaller cup, it tends to teeter or even fall over if you like bigger cups like I do. Yes, not really its fault--just need to use it on smaller cups. But for even the standard size cup, it's close to being too small. The filters that come with it tend to clog up at the end of the brew, slowing the drip rate quite a lot.

Dip-It Automatic Drip Coffeemaker Cleaner: 7 OZ

Dip-It Automatic Drip Coffeemaker Cleaner: 7 OZ
  • Sold Individually
  • Color: Light Green
  • Safely dissolves the hidden lime and scale water deposits
  • Cleans better than vinegar with no unpleasant odor
  • 7 FL OZ (207ml)

When I was going to school (Purdue) in 1955, I worked at a "fixit" shop, where we repaired all sorts of small appliances like toasters, mixers, irons, coffeemakers and other things. One day my boss came in and said, "Here, use this stuff in that coffeepot you just fixed before you tell the owner it's done." He handed me a package of DIP-IT! I didn't think too much about it, but followed the instructions and ran a pot of Dip-It instead of coffee. The inside of the pot sparkled! It took no time at all, and the product was pretty cheap. From then on, we used it in all coffeepots we repaired, just to give the customers a treat when they picked up their coffeepots. I am amazed and pleased that this product is still available after all these years!!

I had used the Dip-it cleaner for stainess steel coffee carafe for the coffee maker and also for Staineless steel thermos jugs....but I was unable to locate the cleaner at our local supermarket(s) where I had purchased it before....even tried Bed Bath & Beyond (they carry misc. cleaners etc.) No one seemed to know where to locate it. So, I tried my true & trusted source, Amazon....and here they were....I thought I would try the coffe maker cleaner and went on to purchase the other Dip-it food and bevarage stain remover cleaner as well...No fuss, no muss, the orders were processed and delivery was in a timely manner.....

San Francisco Bay Coffee OneCup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, French Roast, 12-Count (Pack of 3)

San Francisco Bay Coffee OneCup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, French Roast, 12-CountI just received these 'k-cups' a few days ago. I ordered them on subscribe and save because of the value. I failed to read all reviews, just a few to make sure they were good. When I opened the package, I thought I was sent a wrong item...until I realized these are k-cups, but not the usual looking ones. They are foil sealed with a plastic ring around the top, and the rest of it is a filter. When placed in the brewer, just a hole gets punched on the top, not bottom. Something new perhaps? I tried a cup and I admit, it was very good coffee, full flavor. I will purchase these again and do recommend them. These do arrive in a shipping box, but the k-cups are sealed in plastic bags.

With the recent price hikes for K-Cups, I was starting to question the value of using my Keurig anymore. I saw the San Francisco Bay Coffee OneCups on Amazon and was intrigued by the price and the unusual design. I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee. The only downside I have experienced so far is that the pods do need to be stored in a zip-lock baggie since they are not airtight.

Full disclosure I worked briefly for the people who make this product back in the late '70s. Since I had a personal connection to the product, I really wanted to like it. And it's not bad it's OK, but it's just a bit odd.

First off, the packaging. These aren't your father's K-Cup, where it's an actual cup. These have a top like the traditional cup (so they'll fit in the brewer) but the bottom is completely different. It's almost more like a filter than a cup, and kinda rounded rather than cup-shaped. They come in sealed plastic bags of twelve, so you need to keep them in a ziplock bag or some kind of airtight container once you open the bag, unless you're planning on using them all right away.

Second, the flavor. It's OK, not bad at all, but it just tastes a little off for some reason. A hint of odd flavor. Also, it seems to lack body, for want of a better term. It doesn't have that rich, full, satisfying flavor I expect from a good cup of French Roast.

Lastly, it seems to leave more sediment in the bottom of the cup than traditional K-Cups not sure if that's a by-product of the design or what.

Bottom line it's not like I'm going to throw them away. I'll keep them and drink them, but I probably won't buy them again. I much prefer the flavor of just about any regular K-Cup to these, even non-premium brands like Folger's.

UPDATE: After drinking my way through the whole case and comparing them with other K-Cup products, I have a bit more appreciation for these and might consider buying them again, particularly given the excellent price of around 38 cents a cup if you use Subscribe and Save. One other point I neglected to mention in my original review is that these seem to produce more "crema" the brownish foam that appears on top of a good cup of coffee than most K-Cup products. Keep an eye out for my reviews of the Rainforest Blend (which I found somewhat weak and flavorless) and Fog Chaser (which just arrived and I've yet to sample) varieties coming soon.

I've been a San Francisco Bay coffee fan for years, and was delighted to learn of their one-cups. The flavor is great and the pods are eco-friendly. I like my coffee strong and have found the French Roast to be just right. Don't know what a reviewer meant by "weak and watery." Not so! I like the price too.

I have tried each of these New K-cup like items from San Francisco Bay. This one is darker than the Rainforest blend but not as dark as the Fog Chaser (my personal favorite).

Great coffee...great alternative!

Melitta Espresso Maker

Melitta Espresso MakerWe bought this product based on the Melitta name and the enthusiastic reviews, even though there were just a couple of them. We also liked the fact that it was designed for both pods and ground espresso, and based one review, it seems to work well with pods. The unit is also easy to operate and clean.

Using ground espresso, however, the result was much weaker than we got with our old, fading Krups, using the same coffee. We followed the instructions closely and also tried different coffee and water ratios. We then sent very specific questions to the support team (at Hamilton Beach) from their web site... and received no response.

We appreciate how Amazon took this back with no effort (other than cleaning and repacking) on our part. We will continue to make Amazon our seller of choice.

I got this espresso maker for Christmas this year after getting hooked on latte's. with this maker i have been able to match what i was getting at a coffee house. it took some practice but i figured it out. i haven't tried it with the pods yet but grounds work just fine!!! The frother is amazing and i have started saving a great deal of money.

this machine was one of the best Christmas gifts i could have ever gotten!!!

I purchased this espresso maker in Dec of 2011 and I was excited about getting the unit to replace a Delonghi that gave out. I figured if I paid in the $150.00 range I would be getting something better than the unit I replaced (about $80.00), but it wasn't so. It does heat up quickly but that's about it. The first unit wouldn't draw water from the tank. I called Melitta and they had me try a few things before saying they were authorized to send me a new unit. The service rep told me they would send a new unit and instruct me as to where to send the plug I cut off the defective one. I asked at least twice if I was to send the plug first and she said no. It seemed strange but I waited for the unit to arrive and assumed it was taking extra time to get here because of Xmas. After 3 weeks I called and they said they had no record of me calling. I had to go through the whole story again, send them the plug from the defective unit first (makes sense right?) and received the new unit. It worked but it leaks all over my counter and the handle that holds the grounds is corroding. I use only bottled water. I called them and they said to send them the handle so that they can look at it and figure out why it's corroding. I have the old one from the first broken unit that I can use but they don't have any replacement parts to send me so that if the second one corrodes I can't use the machine at all. The water drips into a plastic piece and doesn't touch the corroded metal, but it still isn't right. The water tank is large but when it gets about half way empty it doesn't draw well and sometimes I have to fill it to get it to work, so it's like having half a tank. I wouldn't buy another Melitta.

I was so excited about this gift when I first recieved it! Then I plugged it in...I did all the first time cleaning and whatnot that's required before brewing the first cup, plugged it in, dropped in the pod and expectantly watched my coffee cup...nothing came out of the filter assembly but water did start spilling all over my counter! This machine has never worked and Melitta said I couldn't return the item because I had no reciept (it was a gift). I've tried half a hundred things to get this machine to work but, in the end, all I got was a brand new piece of junk. Disappointing.

I received a Melitta espresso maker for Christmas. I was really happy as I love Lattes but I don't love their price. I thought I would save a lot of money by making them at home. Unfortunately, I didn't save a thing over $100 (the price of the machine) went down the drain! I have tried and tried to make a decent cup of espresso with it but no matter what I do it ends up extremely weak. I have tried using different brands & kinds of coffee; tried packing the coffee basket tighter and looser; and varying the water levels. Nothing has worked. All I can see that the machine is good for is taking up counter space & collecting dust!

BonJour Automatic Battery-Powered Primo Latte Frother

BonJour Automatic Battery-Powered Primo Latte FrotherUpdate: 2010

Still going strong; however, I have some reservations about the stand. After several years of use, I now feel that the stand is too easily tipped over (but only because accidents do happen--if you never brushed against it, the stand wouldn't tip over), and that led to a bent "wand" when the frother hit the floor. I just received the Aerolatte as a gift (available also at Amazon.com) and am very pleased with it. However, I've only had it a few days; the reliable Bonjour frother worked well for over four years, and was slightly bent only because of an accident. Still make a fantastic (and relatively inexpensive) gift for the coffee connoisseur or the casual cocoa fan! Still highly recommendedbut you might want to compare this with the Aerolatte on features and price. Happy drinking!

Update: Feb 20, 2006

I've upgraded this from a 4.5 to a full 5* since purchasing it back in December. Initially, it seemed difficult to insert the batteries, but the Primo Frother is still going strong after almost 2 months of daily use!

I've come to appreciate a few other features, as well:

*I measured 3 ounces of milk, used the frother, and poured the froth back into a measuring cup. The foam measured close to 10 ounces; the Primo more than tripled the volume!

*The rather flimsy looking stand actually works very well, holding the frother in place without tipping over.

*It's extremely easy to clean: Just run it a few seconds under water.

*It's very useful for mixing powders (e.g., chocolate) into liquids.

*With just a little practice, you can make all manner of foams, from a light froth to a very dense topping that's almost like meringue! It's all in the angle and the depth of the frother within the drink container.

This is undoubtedly the Holiday gift we use most, and I recommend it enthusiastically. (Also available (for a little over $10 more) as a rechargeable unit, though I don't think that's as important as I originally thought.) The review I wrote after only a few days of use is next:

Original Review

The Bonjour frother, like any frother worth its salt, does an incredibly good job of injecting lots of air into your cup of milk, resulting in a thick foam that can be poured over coffee, milk, or the creative beverage of your choice. That little round wire wisk is powerful, creating a tiny whirlpool as it quietly works.

Operation.

You put the round end directly into a cup, and turn it on by holding down a very large black oval-shaped area on the frother's body. If you let go, it will stop after a few seconds--this can be useful if you want just small bursts of power. However, most people want the full whipping experience, hold it down and about 45-60 second later, a change is gonna come. The milk, previously still quite liquid--although shot through with lots of tiny air bubbles--begins to thicken (as when you make meringue). This induces a small pre-coffee high. After awhile, the foamy milk becomes so thick that the frother slows noticeably. You may be tempted to lift it from your cup to the thinner liquid, but resist this temptation: You could wind up splattering your kitchen.

Uses of Foamy Milk.

There are no hard and fast rules here, but, as stated above, froth can be poured over coffee for the classico cafe latte, over espresso (a subset of coffee, I suppose), over smoothies and desserts and whatever else you can think of. Add some Torani flavored syrup, get or make some biscoti, and enjoy the glory that is Rome. (Fortunately, a brief recipe book comes with the frother to stimulate ideas.) You can even froth your drink AFTER you poured the froth into it, but purists may scoff. I think it's a nice alternative, and it's extremely useful when your chocolate mix won't blend with milk.

Maintenance.

The frother cleans extremely easily, and you can hang it to dry in the enclosed stand. The latter was a pleasant surprised; I expected it to tip easily, but--contrary to some other reports here--it didn't. Of course, you need to place it in with some coordination and balance, but the inexpensive little stand works admirably.

Batteries and How to Insert Them.

The frother runs on 2 AA batteries (need I add that they are not included), and herein lies the single drawback: Closing the frother after inserting the batteries is not as easy as it should be. You have to push a tab on each side AND fit the end of the battery container into a slot at the end of the frother, and it takes patience and practice. If you have opened an electric razor to change the blades, and had difficulty closing it, you'll know what I mean. Suffice it to say that you DO NOT WANT TO FORCE anything, or else the tabs may break. Slowly but surely does it (or ask your clever neighbor); once you "get it," it probably won't be a problem anymore.

Ergonomics and Apppearance.

It fits nicely in your hand, and it's light, but the ergonomic advantages are somewhat overstated by Bonjour. The contrast of matte black and "brushed" aluminum looks good, and the frother is compact.

I give this a small deduction for the battery learning curve, but otherwise, a very useful small appliance. Primo, dude.

Actually, I LOVE this thing and when I got it as a gift, I thought it was pretty hokey. I used to work at Starbucks and I know there's no faking frothy, steamed milk.

But this guy does it!

To clean it I just dab a drop of dishsoap on it and send it spinning under the hot tap.

To change the batteries, make sure to squeeze *both* sides of the case.

This makes giant, fluffy hot chocolates it does an amazing job with the marshmallows! As dorky as it is, I now have it in high rotation in my kitchen!

Buy BonJour Automatic Battery-Powered Primo Latte Frother Now

I've had three of these already and found that they just don't last long. After being used once a day for about a month or two, it just doesn't spin as well as it did when newer. Yes, I have been changing the batteries when it slows and it no longer makes a difference in the function. It is so slow, that it only makes a couple of bubbles now, no froth. When new it works better than expected and makes mountains of foam and that's the reason I keep purchasing another every couple of months. Maybe some moisture is getting in to the battery compartment?? not sure why the problem.

Read Best Reviews of BonJour Automatic Battery-Powered Primo Latte Frother Here

We own the rechargeable version of this as well. Both work quite well in making froth. However, this battery version falls short of the rechargeable and so gets 4 stars for two reasons: The switch design placement is very awkward (on the side of the thing) and really does not fall to hand easily. The other version has the power button on the top, so it is easy to hold it pinched upright and press the button with an index finger. Also, the stand is not very stable. Since it hangs, the whole thing is top-heavy and prone to being knocked over easily. The recharger stand is designed to accept the device upside down, so it is bottom-heavy. (The recharging unit seems to use magnetic induction, just like most modern electric toothbrushes.)

Otherwise, for the price and since it still does work well, this battery only version is a good value.

Want BonJour Automatic Battery-Powered Primo Latte Frother Discount?

I've owned almost every frother on the market and this is one of the best when it comes to power, speed and comfort of use. It whips up high quality milk foam in short order (and I'm pretty picky having owned and managed several espresso bars). It is also a very solid device, creating the impression that it will last a while. Unfortunately, due to one distinct design flaw, this impression is false. The handle splits into two pieces to allow access to the battery compartment where other similar products have a door in the top in which to drop batteries into the device. This allows for a smooth, designer-y look unlike the others with their abrupt, flat tops, but eventually, after repeated replacement of the batteries, the two pieces become loose making it impossible to snap the battery compartment closed properly.

It's a shame that, in this case, good design undermines the product's lifespan. If not for this flaw the BonJour Primo would be my frother of choice. I'm going to try the older, less designer-y model Bonjour Cafe Latte Milk Frother, Vanilla White. Perhaps it will provide the same quality with a little more longevity.

Neapolitan Coffee Maker 1-2 Cup Size - Stainless Steel - Made in Italy

Neapolitan Coffee Maker 1-2 Cup Size - Stainless Steel - Made in ItalyI have a difficulty in brewing a coffee with this coffee maker. When I turn the coffee maker upside down after boiling, "the filter

group" seems to be slipping inside. 3 minutes later, I found "the filter group" sink inside the spout, and water doesn't go through the filter. So I have to lift up the filter...I tried to ask ILSA about this Coffee Maker, but still I couldn't get answer from ILSA.

When you turn over the pot, the inner container (containing the grounds) should, of course, stop at a certain point, so that the water can drip through and coffee can come out the other side. This inner container simply falls right to the bottom. Either my particular one was flawed, or had some wrong parts, or this machine simply doesn't work.

This stove-top coffee (or espresso, I used it to make coffee) maker is wonderful. It's a perfect melding of design and function streamlined and efficient, while lovely to look at.

I was so sad when the handle began to come off, requiring soddering, but would most definitely recommend and purchase this product again. Prior to the Ilsa Neapolitan I had the Bialetti which was a BUST replaced twice, plastic parts broke, a poor example of Italian coffee making design, or rather, over-produced and marketed in the U.S., whereas this Ilsa product is singular.
