Cuisinart DGB-475 Grind & Brew 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemakers

Cuisinart DGB-475BK Grind & Brew 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, BlackI went ahead and purchased this product after a lot of research and despite what some of the negative reviewers say. I've had built-in grind coffee machines for awhile, and I can honestly say this little machine produces some of the best tasting coffee there is! The cleanup is easier than my old GE machine (with grinder). No, it's not as easy as a normal coffee maker without the grinder, but then you don't get the freshly ground coffee either.

You're going to have to decide what is right for you. I program mine the night before and wake up to fresh coffee in the morning. The grinder is noisy, but is still quieter than my old machine. After I pour my thermos, it takes me all of three minutes to disassemble and rinse the parts out with hot water, leaving them to drip dry in the sink for when I get home. About once every couple weeks, I hand wash the parts.

I use the thing every week, 5 days a week. It's awesome. I've had no trouble with it. You just have to know that you're getting a grind-and-brew, not just some regular coffee maker. If you're looking for quality coffee, then this is your ticket.

UPDATE 9/30/11: After 2 years of owning this machine and using it regularly, it is still going strong! Even though I said I hand-washed the parts once a week, I got lazy and started using the dishwasher. I put the plastic bits on the top shelf and only the carafe on the bottom shelf. It works great in the dishwasher, and I have had NO damage to the unit. Again, this is a great machine. It's still making fantastic coffee with no problems.

I've used this coffee maker for about a week now. Overall, I do recommend it. This is the first coffee maker I've used that grinds the beans, definitely a very nice feature. It makes very good coffee, probably the best coffee of any coffee maker I've ever owned (which is more than a few). And the coffee still tastes quite good after two hours on the burner. I like that you can disable the grinder and just use ground coffee if you want.

It does have a few quirks worth mentioning. First, the grinder gets wet from steam every time you use the maker, whether you grind beans or not. It is very important that the grinder and basket cover are dry before grinding the beans; otherwise the grounds stick to them and you end up with weak coffee. So you must remove the grinder and basket and let them thoroughly air dry before you can actually use it. Safety features in the maker don't allow you to brew coffee unless the grinder is in place, so don't think that's your way out. You just need to plan ahead.

Second, while it is nice to have a charcoal water filter as part of the coffee maker, I was a little put off that they charge about $5 a piece for replacement filters($10 for a 2-pack). They say the filters last for 60 brews. Not quite as bad as ink for the printer, but you get the picture.

Third, if you use the grinder, you have 5 pieces to clean after every use, 2-piece grinder, 2-piece basket, and the carafe.

Overall, I give it 4-1/2 out of 5. The coffee it makes is top notch, well worth the extra cleaning time, but planning ahead is essential.

This coffee maker makes great tasting coffee faster than my Melitta grind and brew coffee maker. The bean grinder motor sounds more powerful and grinds beans much faster and quieter. However, the bean basket itself is very small. I guess I must like my coffee stronger since I use a separate coffee bean grinder when making more than six cups of coffee. The charcoal water filter does seem to improve the taste of coffee. I agree with some other reviewers who complain that cleaning the unit (especially the inside) requires some extra effort. Finally, I like the size and overall shape of this coffee maker. This product is close to perfect.

We live in the country and this coffeemaker has been such a wonderful addition to our kitchen. The water filter has made such a difference to the taste of the coffee, we were so suprised. The automatic turn off feature is also a favorite of mine. Several times we have left with the coffeemaker still on and now we don't have that worry.

There are so many great features on this machine, like the rest of our cuisinart products this one makes life more enjoyable!!

We received this coffeemaker as a gift. While all the features make it seem like it'd be a wonderful maker, it's really not. It's a pain to clean, but the bigger problem is that the basket pops out quite often and makes a HUGE mess all over the counter and inside the coffeemaker (spilling the grinds inside). It's such a pain and I dread making coffee in the AM because of it. I hate to give it away since I don't want to burdeon anyone else wit hit.

Urnex Full Circle Biodegradable Single Cup Brewer Cleaning and Descaling Liquid

Urnex Full Circle Biodegradable Single Cup Brewer Cleaning and Descaling LiquidI use this cleaner for my Verismo single cup coffee maker. I think that it really did a good job cleaning it. I did have to rinse more times than the instructions recommended. The ease of use is one of the reasons I chose this cleaner. Would recommend for others with single cup coffee makers.

Our family uses our poor little Keurig like it is a commercial product... Between my husband and I, we must make 5 cups a day7 days a week. That's a lot of coffee going through that little guy but I was shocked to see that this product worked so well. It was basically a quick and easy two step processat the end of which you have a cup of coffee that actually tastes better than the same coffee you had before you cleaned. Seriously.

I have to admit I have had my Keurig for about 4 years and clean it maybe once a year...not because I like dirty coffee machines, but because the vinegar odor makes me a little ill and the process is laborious. I recently found out about the Full Circle cleaning liquid and was very excited to try it out it out because it 'claimed' to be odorless. To my delight not only was it odorless, it was VERY fast and easy to use (a few simple steps described simply on the bottle.) Exactly what someone like me, a busy Mom trying to get four kids out the door early in the morning, needs. My coffee has never tasted better!! I did have to rinse the liquid out a few more times than the directions suggest, but I have heard the directions have been revised. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has a Keurig, likes good coffee and cares about the environment. I will certainly be using this product for many years.

My Kuerig Platinum B70 brewer refused to pump water again despite using only filtered water in it and not using it more than 1-2 times per week. The first time, Costco replaced it for me and I didn't want to have to take a second unit back. My son saw that this product is HIGHLY recommended by Starbucks and who wouldn't think Starbucks would know about coffee stuff, right?!

This product purports to be biodegradable and odorless -it might be biodegradable but I could certainly smell an odor -it was a low-level chemical-type odor. Maybe I just have a sensitive snout... I followed the instructions precisely and the water did start pumping a little more but that could also have been due to my following the Kuerrig on-line maintenance videos as well as some YouTube videos to try to deep clean the machine that same morning.

The brewer was still running slow so it took me almost 75 minutes to run through enough cycles to get rid of the chemical odor. Then the machine stopped pumping water again entirely. BTW, the product indicates that you have to do about 3 cycles to fully remove the product/odor from the brewer -just wasn't my experience.

Maybe this product would work if you started using it on a maintenance basis instead of trying to fix a problem that already exists. Just not sure....

Note for Kuerig users: when my brewer stopped again after having been cleaned, I called Kuerig customer service to find out what else I could do. We went through my purchase history and then she asked what steps I had taken to try to fix the problem myself. Everything was fine until I got to the part where I used a cleaner (didn't identify this specific one) that morning and it hadn't fixed the problem either. She said, "you know, when you use anything but white vinegar and water to clean our brewers you VOID THE WARRANTY!" She still honored the warranty for me because (I think) this was the 2nd one to have a problem AND I was able to detail all the work I had done PRIOR to using the cleaner without having any success.

So my advice is this -if you have a Kuerig, start early on a maintenance program -before you have problems -using white vinegar as directed in the manuals. If you DO use a cleaner and you call customer service, if you tell them you used any other cleaner, be prepared to be turned away without getting a replacement brewer should it truly fail, even during the 1 year warranty period.

I have to admit, I was pre-disposed to love this product. I was given the opportunity to test it as long as I promised to write a review here. My Keurig desperately needed descaling so I thought this was going to be very win-win. Imagine my disappointment when things didn't go as well as I'd hoped. Here's why: The directions were so basic, they were actually confusing. So, before using the product, I called the number on the bottle and spoke to someone in customer service for clarification. I was told to go through 2 brewing cycles with the product, then dump the remainder, add a chamber of fresh water and brew one cycle. I did that but actually decided to brew the fresh water until the chamber needed a refill (I wanted to be on the safe side). After that, I again rinsed the chamber and added fresh water. This time I put in a K cup and brewed my coffee. The good news is that the coffee brewed in the normal amount of time (which it hadn't been doing because I needed to descale). But the bad news is the coffee was a very weird color and made my milk curdle. So I dumped it out (1 wasted K Cup) and tried another. This time the coffee looked ok but when I tasted it, it tasted awful. I tried a second sip and had to dump this cup as well (2nd wasted K cup). I called the company back, got another rep who said, "well with some machines you need to brew through to rinse reservoirs". Now if the first person had told me that before I both wasted coffee and drank toxic residue, I'd probably be able to give the cleanser itself a few more stars...

UPDATE: THE COMPANY WANTS TO DO WELL BY ITS CUSTOMERS AND ADDRESSED THE PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS SO THAT THEY ARE EASY-TO-FOLLOW/MORE USER-FRIENDLY. THE RESULT IS A MUCH IMPROVED EXPERIENCE; THE PRODUCT WORKED WELL ALL ALONG, NOW THE USER-INTERFACE IS EASY INSTEAD OF FRUSTRATING. THEREFORE, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. AND I APPLAUD THE COMPANY FOR ITS PRO-ACTIVE RESPONSE TO CUSTOMER FEEDBACK.

Cappuccino Maker w/ Steamed Milk Pitcher PHB

Cappuccino Maker w/ Steamed Milk Pitcher PHBThere is no indication in the title or description of this item that this is a toy. This is not a real capuccino machine and I think the listing is incredible misleading. Caveat Emptor!

Good little product for gift idea's. But not enough information to indicate that this product is a

gift or the real thing mean that I bought this and thinking that this was the real Cappuiccion maker. This product came on time.

Stackable Porcelain Cappuccino Cup & Saucer 9 Pc Set

Stackable Porcelain Cappuccino Cup & Saucer 9 Pc SetI love these cups... to the reviewer to said they were too small (did you mistakenly buy the espresso set?) --these are plenty big enough to brew a traditional cap. They hold 6oz of liquid EASILY and 7.5 with a tiny bit of room at the top. Bought 1 set for Christmas and am purchasing another because we are so pleased with the set.

I use this set every single day and I just love it. I have the DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker which by the way is the most wonderful machine. Two of these cups fit under it but I usually just use the one with a double shot into it. They are very sturdy cups and the holder is great next to my machine where like the other reviewer stated you can have the cups at your fingertips AND they looks great. The holder was a bit snug and when we put the cups in, it was hard for them to go down and stack correctly but it's pliable so we just used a little muscle and pulled the "spokes" apart a bit and it was just fine. This set is well worth the price. It's made very well and looks exactly like the cups and saucers we used in Paris.

This is a fantastic set of cups & saucers. Everything stacks neatly in the holder and is at my fingertips when I want to make a capuccino. Two cups fit underneath the spout on my capuccino maker perfectly. I am going to order another set!

I really love the design of this set and hoped it would had been a pleasant match to my espresso machine. However, there were huge flaws in the porcelain in two of the mugs. Obviously there was no quality control or else they would have seen this. Amazaon didn't offer an exchange option either, only a refund option.

This set is very awesome and very functional and I use it every day and I love it. I do however, have to tell everyone that you can get this same set at World Imports for $9.99. So for the $20 whatever bucks plus shipping you would pay to get it here . . . you can buy two at World Imports. (They also have a multi-color set which is pretty cute too)
