West Bend 60 Cup Commercial Coffee Maker

West Bend 60 Cup Commercial Coffee MakerPurchased this for business, works well however it runs really hot, won't be surprised if the coffee inside is 212%, also stops dispensing with about 12 cups inside, guess this keeps the pot from burning, but I then have to move the last 12 cups to a carafe so they can be enjoyed. Guess you cannot have your cake....u know the rest.

This coffee maker is easy to set up, easy to clean, makes a great cup of coffee, and keeps the coffee at the correct temperature for several hours.

I use this on our filmmaking sets. While it did take about an hour to perc about 60 cups, the coffee was delicious and stayed piping hot indefinitely. Most of the cast and crew complimented the coffee (I used Starbucks French Roast). Just be sure to use a medium grind. Too fine, and the grounds will clog the permanent filter. Too coarse and you won't get enough flavor.

TOO HOT: High temperature scorches the coffee resulting in bad taste.

TOO LEAKY: Right out of the box it leaked liquid while brewing.

TOO STEAMY: Steam never stops leaking from the top while it is on.

TOO NOISEY: You can hear it brewing from 186.35 [ft] away ( I measured it).

I needed a 60 cup coffee maker for my Sunday school class and this is working out nicely. My only complaint is I had one person put their cup 'behind' the dispenser lever and when she tried to get her cup out, coffee poured on to the floor.

Cuisinox Roma 10 Cup Stovetop Espresso Coffeemaker

Cuisinox Roma 10 Cup Stovetop Espresso CoffeemakerThis is a fantastic stovetop espresso pot; it's got beautiful lines, it's very well crafted and well designed.

First of all, I appreciate that it's made of stainless steel rather than the more traditional aluminum. There's no pitting of the metal over time (and therefore, no aluminum that winds up in my coffee! In using it on an electric stovetop, there's been no discoloration on the outside surface either.

Another reviewer noted the size of this pot, and I was a bit concerned that it would be larger than I expected, but it seems perfect to me; it's not cumbersome or heavy in the least. It's very well constructed and designed to last. Regarding the lid being 'flimsy', the hinge itself does allow a bit of play, but it doesn't seem to pose any danger of breaking. The handle doesn't become too hot to touch, as with some other moka pots.

For me, the pot makes an excellent brew of coffee (I prefer it to my French press), and just enough coffee to fill my extra large mug (about 20 oz., the size of a Starbucks venti). The great thing about a moka pot is that you can tailor the taste of the coffee in a multitude of ways. It will accept a grind from coarse to fine, thereby changing the amount of surface area of coffee that is exposed to the water. You can play with the water and coffee ratio to find what works best for you. And depending on how high you set your stove, you can affect the brew time, which makes a difference in the taste as well. It really allows you to tweak the variables and find the method that is right for you.

Cleaning doesn't pose any issues, and taking it apart and reassembling it is easy and quick. There's a filter insert that allows you to brew a half pot (about a traditionally sized cup of coffee), and it works well. But I almost always make the full amount, and wouldn't enjoy a smaller pot than this.

I love this pot; it's held up well, and I expect it will continue to for years to come.

I recently received my Roma 10 cup it is quite a bit larger than the 6 cup. Overall the construction seems solid although the lid attachment seems a bit flimsy. Unlike other reviewers mine did discolor slightly at the base after use, but I do not really mind the gold hue (and yes the fire was kept low). Also unlike some other reviewers of the 6 cup, I did not find it that difficult to clean. However I would recommend cleaning it soon after it cools. One advantage of the 10 cup vs the 6 cup is that the larger base protects the handle from heat and I have not found the need to use a towel or hot pad to remove it from the stove and pour it. Also you do have the option to make 5 cups and to be honest I cannot see wanting to make less than that ( such as 3 on the 6 cup). The coffee is rich and strong but I would not quite compare it to espresso, however it does pack more puch than the same coffee in my Cappresso drip machine. I like it, and even though the 6 cup is a little more attractive in size, I think it would be too small to make morning (which means a decent cup size)coffee for more than one person. I would recommend it and my only complaint is the way the lid is attached should be more solid.

Urnex Full Circle Biodegradable Single Cup Brewer Cleaning and Descaling Liquid

Urnex Full Circle Biodegradable Single Cup Brewer Cleaning and Descaling LiquidI use this cleaner for my Verismo single cup coffee maker. I think that it really did a good job cleaning it. I did have to rinse more times than the instructions recommended. The ease of use is one of the reasons I chose this cleaner. Would recommend for others with single cup coffee makers.

Our family uses our poor little Keurig like it is a commercial product... Between my husband and I, we must make 5 cups a day7 days a week. That's a lot of coffee going through that little guy but I was shocked to see that this product worked so well. It was basically a quick and easy two step processat the end of which you have a cup of coffee that actually tastes better than the same coffee you had before you cleaned. Seriously.

I have to admit I have had my Keurig for about 4 years and clean it maybe once a year...not because I like dirty coffee machines, but because the vinegar odor makes me a little ill and the process is laborious. I recently found out about the Full Circle cleaning liquid and was very excited to try it out it out because it 'claimed' to be odorless. To my delight not only was it odorless, it was VERY fast and easy to use (a few simple steps described simply on the bottle.) Exactly what someone like me, a busy Mom trying to get four kids out the door early in the morning, needs. My coffee has never tasted better!! I did have to rinse the liquid out a few more times than the directions suggest, but I have heard the directions have been revised. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has a Keurig, likes good coffee and cares about the environment. I will certainly be using this product for many years.

My Kuerig Platinum B70 brewer refused to pump water again despite using only filtered water in it and not using it more than 1-2 times per week. The first time, Costco replaced it for me and I didn't want to have to take a second unit back. My son saw that this product is HIGHLY recommended by Starbucks and who wouldn't think Starbucks would know about coffee stuff, right?!

This product purports to be biodegradable and odorless -it might be biodegradable but I could certainly smell an odor -it was a low-level chemical-type odor. Maybe I just have a sensitive snout... I followed the instructions precisely and the water did start pumping a little more but that could also have been due to my following the Kuerrig on-line maintenance videos as well as some YouTube videos to try to deep clean the machine that same morning.

The brewer was still running slow so it took me almost 75 minutes to run through enough cycles to get rid of the chemical odor. Then the machine stopped pumping water again entirely. BTW, the product indicates that you have to do about 3 cycles to fully remove the product/odor from the brewer -just wasn't my experience.

Maybe this product would work if you started using it on a maintenance basis instead of trying to fix a problem that already exists. Just not sure....

Note for Kuerig users: when my brewer stopped again after having been cleaned, I called Kuerig customer service to find out what else I could do. We went through my purchase history and then she asked what steps I had taken to try to fix the problem myself. Everything was fine until I got to the part where I used a cleaner (didn't identify this specific one) that morning and it hadn't fixed the problem either. She said, "you know, when you use anything but white vinegar and water to clean our brewers you VOID THE WARRANTY!" She still honored the warranty for me because (I think) this was the 2nd one to have a problem AND I was able to detail all the work I had done PRIOR to using the cleaner without having any success.

So my advice is this -if you have a Kuerig, start early on a maintenance program -before you have problems -using white vinegar as directed in the manuals. If you DO use a cleaner and you call customer service, if you tell them you used any other cleaner, be prepared to be turned away without getting a replacement brewer should it truly fail, even during the 1 year warranty period.

I have to admit, I was pre-disposed to love this product. I was given the opportunity to test it as long as I promised to write a review here. My Keurig desperately needed descaling so I thought this was going to be very win-win. Imagine my disappointment when things didn't go as well as I'd hoped. Here's why: The directions were so basic, they were actually confusing. So, before using the product, I called the number on the bottle and spoke to someone in customer service for clarification. I was told to go through 2 brewing cycles with the product, then dump the remainder, add a chamber of fresh water and brew one cycle. I did that but actually decided to brew the fresh water until the chamber needed a refill (I wanted to be on the safe side). After that, I again rinsed the chamber and added fresh water. This time I put in a K cup and brewed my coffee. The good news is that the coffee brewed in the normal amount of time (which it hadn't been doing because I needed to descale). But the bad news is the coffee was a very weird color and made my milk curdle. So I dumped it out (1 wasted K Cup) and tried another. This time the coffee looked ok but when I tasted it, it tasted awful. I tried a second sip and had to dump this cup as well (2nd wasted K cup). I called the company back, got another rep who said, "well with some machines you need to brew through to rinse reservoirs". Now if the first person had told me that before I both wasted coffee and drank toxic residue, I'd probably be able to give the cleanser itself a few more stars...

UPDATE: THE COMPANY WANTS TO DO WELL BY ITS CUSTOMERS AND ADDRESSED THE PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS SO THAT THEY ARE EASY-TO-FOLLOW/MORE USER-FRIENDLY. THE RESULT IS A MUCH IMPROVED EXPERIENCE; THE PRODUCT WORKED WELL ALL ALONG, NOW THE USER-INTERFACE IS EASY INSTEAD OF FRUSTRATING. THEREFORE, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. AND I APPLAUD THE COMPANY FOR ITS PRO-ACTIVE RESPONSE TO CUSTOMER FEEDBACK.

Green Mountain Coffee, Dark Magic (Extra Bold), K-Cups for Keurig Brewers

Green Mountain Coffee, Dark Magic, K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig Brewers 24-CountDark Magic is for coffee drinkers searching for something bolder than the breakfast blends and flavored coffees ubiquitous on supermarket shelves. Whether it will satisfy depends on what you normally buy at coffee shops. My wife favors a latte or mocha, so she found Dark Magic too strong. I prefer an Americano, so I liked this roast.

I tested the Dark Magic blend on Keurig's small cup (5.25 oz) setting to capture the strongest flavor. It was a nice improvement from Green Mountain's Fair Trade Gingerbread I drank earlier in the week. Dark Magic is bolder than Tully's Coffee Kona Blend or Green Mountain Coffee Breakfast Blend but no more bitter.

If you need more caffeine, I recommend you add a SToK Caffeinated Black Coffee Shot.

In summary, I like "tres intense" roasts and Green Mountain Coffee Dark Magic is the darkest I have found in the Keurig lineup. I will post an update should I try a stronger blend than Dark Magic. Rating: Four stars.

BTW: Here are other coffees I recently reviewed for Amazon:

5 stars: Van Houtte Chocolate Raspberry Truffle

4 stars: Tully's Coffee Kona Blend

4 stars: Green Mountain Coffee Dark Magic

3 stars: Green Mountain Coffee Breakfast Blend

3 stars: Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Gingerbread

The Keurig system is marvelous--and the Dark Magic coffee is delicious. But Amazon is falling down on the job a bit with this price--you can buy a box of 24 K cups from the Keurig site for $13.95--and get a discount as muc as 15% if you are a repeat buyer.

Green Mountain's Dark Magic Extra Bold is my go-to coffee for use with my Keurig coffee machine. I go through more of this particular flavor then any other type of coffee. In fact I don't think a day goes by that I don't have at least 1 cup of this flavor, if not more. Don't let the words dark and extra bold scare you off this coffee is rich, smooth and in many ways mellow. Its not overly acidic, it does't taste burnt, its just a good cup of "coffee flavored coffee". It works well with most flavored creamers, sweeteners, but is a pleasant cup in its pure and unadorned form as well.

This has become my favorite coffeee. It is strong and bold without being bitter. I even make a second cup with the same puck and it is still good.

I compared the 18 cup Dark Magic (from Target) to the 50 cup Dark Magic(from Amazon), since the labeling and k-cup is markedly different. The coffee did not taste as rich, so I became more curious.

I opened the k-cups to find the 50 cup filters have a visible cross hatch pattern, as compared to a dense firm paper style. I used a microscope to see the difference in density, as well. The weave of the fibers of the 50 pack is not as closely bound.

The coffee granules are finer in the 18 cup, giving the coffee a different texture on the fingers. The 50 pack ground coffee appeared 50%-100% larger under the microscope.

I hope that Keurig can shed some light on my findings! I have photos I can submit. I notice amazon is out of stock, currently. Perhaps, Keurig is looking into the matter.

KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder

KitchenAid Blade Coffee GrinderThis is the best coffee grinder I have ever owned. It is powerful...which makes the grinding go quickly. I have always had a mess with grinders as you transfer the grounds to the lid to then put in the coffeemaker. Then, when you put the lid back on, big mess! This one, the grinding "cup" just lifts out...the lid never gets grounds in it. Fantastic! It's also large enough to grind enough beans for a full 12-cup batch of coffee...and I drink strong coffee so I use a lot of beans. Seriously, best ever.

This is the best dry grinder that I've ever owned. It is very attractive, compact, well designed & does the job. The cup can be removed to empty the ground item, and can be put in the dishwasher. This is a big plus. Also, the cup is much larger than the other spice mills that I've had.

I use this grinder to grind spices, flax and black sesame, and it does a great job with each and every one of these. The plastic grinders are unsafe, since over time the plastic is damaged (gets cloudy) by the hard coffee bean and spices, and particles of plastic is getting in your food.

I searched for a stainless steel grinding bowl for safety reasons, and found this. This is a little gem. I only wish that kitchenaid sells extra cups.

Let me begin with a confession: I'm not a coffee goar-may. I don't ask much of my coffeemaker and grinder beyond a good cuppa in the morning.

Having said that, I do grind my own beans daily. I've owned the Krups unit for several years. It was reliable and easy to use. I was happy with it. It was happy with me. We raised our cups of coffee together. But as we advanced together beyond what could be comfortably called middle age, I got an itch for a nice little grinder with more pizazz. My relationship with the reliable little Krups got stale.

I picked up this little KitchenAid unit up on a website. KitchenAid looked hot, in tune with the times, and built like she could deliver. And boy, can she deliver. One of the things I like about her is she's quiet. If you have company sleeping in, there's no racket to embarrass you and rouse the guests sleepy-eyed and groggy out of the guest bedroom wondering if someone is getting killed. Krups was a screamer.

And trust me, KitchenAid has all the moves down. If you push the right button, she'll grind your beans to a state of perfection.

No, Krups and I are finished. It is so over. She gave me the best years of her life, but all good things must end. I hope she can find a new home. I don't have a single pang of regret that KitchenAid has moved in, and my beans have never been in better shape.

This grinder had some great features like being able to remve the cup for washing, but I have a laundry list of issues with it. First, the floor model I tinkered with came apart easily and came back together smoothly. Not so with the one that came out of our box. We had to man handle the cup out and the "pegs" didn't line up quite right without some fiddling. Our biggest problem is we need a fine grind, but this grinder did a superficial grind before heaping it all to the edge where the blade would no longer do anything. Even after shaking the grounds back down twice, the grind we were left with had chunks in it. Very disappointing for a KitchenAid product.

Want KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder Discount?

I bought this grinder because I thought it was a worthy successor to the KitchenAid BCG100OB Blade Coffee Grinder. The latter product was outstanding in all respects, except that after five years the coupling gave out and KitchenAid didn't stock replacement parts for it.

This grinder, however, is simply terrible. It performs worse than the cheap Krups Fast Touch Coffee Grinder which can often be found under $15 on sale. The problem is that the blade is simply too high and can't catch items low in the grinding chamber. Consequently, even large spices such as pepper, coriander seeds, allspice, cloves, etc., simply are whipped around without grinding them. Smaller spices such as mustard seeds are left in an even more unchanged state.

This grinder also cannot grind coffee very fine, unlike most other blade grinders.

What is worse, grinding dust enters the cap between the plastic housing and the stainless steel chamber, much like the Cuisinart SG-10 Electric Spice-and-Nut Grinder. (The Cuisinart also cannot grind finely enough.) This makes it hard to clean and is just a pain, period.

It's unfortunate, since the motor is very heavy and the unit appears well built otherwise.
