Krups F054 Anticalc Lime Descaller Kit

Krups F054 Anticalc Lime Descaller KitI bought the descaller (is it really spelled that way?) for my ancient Krups Il Primo espresso machine. No instructions came in the box. It took forever to get any help from Krups and then the instructions were for much fancier machines.

So here's what I did:

Dissolve the packet in 500ml of water. I did half a packet because my machine could not hold all that much.

Pour a third of the mixture into the machine. Steam some of it and let the rest go through the coffee basket.

Do that again.

Then heat it up and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. And then expell the mixture.

I found "crud" in the basket. Next time I will check the basket after each round.

I then ran plain water through the machine several times. Maybe it wasn't necessary but it made me feel better.

Had a "dead" Krups expresso maker. Used this powder per the instructions and machine started percolating like new. If you have a sluggish or non-percolating machine, use it before going out to buy a new one.

I bought this for my Krups coffee maker. It doesn't come with instructions so I followed the instructions that a previous reviewer had written and it worked fine. I ran it through the cycle twice and then ran clean water through twice, and it did the job.

My neighbor was giving her Krups cappuccino maker to charity and I asked if I could have it. She said that it didn't work because the water no longer came out, and she had tried to clean it and nothing worked. She gave it to me and I ordered this product. I followed the directions for the coffee maker I found online and ran the cycle once with the descaller and three times after with just water. Now it works great. I haven't decided if I should tell my neighbor or not!

Oggi EZ Grip Decaf Canister, White

Oggi EZ Grip Decaf Canister, WhiteI purchased both the regular and decaf canisters. The white one looked like one of my children had made it. The word "DECAF" was missing part of the letter "D" and someone had tried to use black paint to cover it up when manufactured. Also, a nice size spot of black paint was on the handle, under the glaze. Scoop is very cheap looking. The word "DECAF" on my canister was not centered like the one in the picture, but all of the way to the left. It just looks so tacky. I don't recommend buying either of these.

It's a beautiful canister. The clasp seems flimsy but it does seal nice and tightly. My canister arrived without a spoon. I contacted Amazon who had me contact the manufacturer. I chatted with a very sympathetic young lady who assured me a new spoon would arrive shortly. I'm still waiting and it's been a month....looks like I'm placing another long distance phone call. Hence, 3 stars.

I bought this with the "regular" one which i found on Amazon from another seller. both have the same Oggi" sticker from the manufacturer so I assumed they were the same other than color (and the words decaf and regular), but when they came i noticed the decaf canister is smaller. Not another size canister, but rather just a tad smaller as if manufactured in a different place where measurements were a bit off. It is noticeable enough to annoy me but overall i like both canisters so i did not bother to return. As already mentioned by others, you can't empty a whole bag of coffee in, i feel this is a pretty serious flaw so only two stars. So, for the price, they are okay until i come across something better..

First, while the inside is not quite big enough to hold a full pound of coffee, this canister is very large outside. This is due to the handle design. So don't be fooled into thinking this is a small canister that won't take up much space on your counter.

Next, the decal is obviously put on by hand by someone who is not concerned with getting the letters straight or even. The word decaf was sloped to the point where the bottom of the F actually curled a bit around the bottom edge of the canister, but the D was more than 1/8" above the bottom edge.

Last, there is a rubber seal which helps the canister close tightly. Unfortunately, the closing mechanism is very flimsy. I bought this one as a set with the black TEA canister and the clasps are exactly the same and the TEA one (which gets used more often) has already broken and come apart and I've had them only about two weeks. Needless to say, they are going back.

I do NOT recommend buying this or the black TEA canister. Not only are they not worth the money, they aren't worth ANY amount. They look good in the picture, but they won't look good on your counter and they won't work the way they should.

Paula Deen 8-Cup Stovetop Percolators

Paula Deen 8-Cup Stovetop Percolator, RedIn seeing so many nasty reviews about this little perk pot, I am putting in my two cents. First of all What do all these one and two star folks think this percolator is supposed to do for them?? Take them to Starbucks... I mean, seriously......

The reason I bought this percolator was because I had tried some stove top espresso makers, which clearly made much richer and fully flavored coffee, the only problem was that is was much too strong. It was evident something about the water and steam passing though all the grounds fully, and very slowly was making all the difference in the world. So I bought this percolator to see if this could make a richer home brew that was not as strong as espresso. Indeed this old fashioned process adds to the flavor and if properly perked your coffee will turn out just fine. The coffee is so rich that I save the left overs for iced coffee in the late afternoons during the summer.

Best thing to do is follow the instructions which say to let the water come to a boil then turn it to low heat. Yes, this means you need to stand there by the stove . Yes, if you over cook it, it will taste bitter. Yes, if you put too much water in the percolator it will over flow onto your stove. However, if you fill the percolator and coffee basket half way, all should go well.

The design is nice and this is a very sturdy item. Would have been very helpful if this came with a silicon grip in this day and age. Yes, you have to use a pot holder, just like way back when. Also, the orange is close to a bright red, the red is a very dark red, and the blue is nearly an aqua green.

Would be five stars but for the lack of a silicon grip. Nice job Ms. Paula Deen. Thank you!

It all started with the knives. I moved into this apartment in early Feb., My son gave me a gift card as a house warming so I went on a spree buying

kitchen things. When I considered a new percolator the fact that the landlord payed for the cooking gas entered into the choice. It's not possible to

just go out to Wall-Mart and pick up a stove top unit. I had purchased red knives and red cooking pots so it had to be red. It's a well made product and

a credit to the Paula Deen brand name. I agree with another review I read when shopping on amazon, the bad reviews for this unit come from young people who have never used a crank to lower a car window or lowered a needle on a 78 RPM record.

Best coffee pot I ever had! Bought a DeLonghi coffeepot for over $100 and between filters that had to be purchased every few months, descaling the pot with vinegar, it just wasn't worth it. The descaling didn't work and after a year I threw it away!

The Paula Deen coffeepot makes excellent coffee even without using the strainer, when less coffee is needed, but with excellent flavor!

I even make tea in it. Somehow, the heaviness of the pot and tight, snug double lid gives coffee and tea a full-bodied flavor! It makes coffee so fast, and has a slowly, brewed taste!

We have had our Paula Deen stovetop percolator for more than a year. It brews the best coffee we have ever had. You need to pay attention to when the coffee begins to percolate and then turn the heat down to low and brew for six minutes. We then turn the heat off and let it set for a couple of minutes before pouring. It makes perfect coffee every time.

Bought this for my hubby, the coffee drinker in the family. Cute, seemed sturdy and sustainable, no plastic, so I bought it.

But this thing takes 20-25 minutes to fully percolate on med-high heat(what a waste of energy!) Seems to be taking longer the older it gets(right now about 6 mos. old). Like other users we also have gotten some some grounds in the coffee.

I wish I could find another one that makes a similar amount that is as pretty as this one! I don't mind having this live on the burner.

Please improve the design, Paula! I'd probably spring for another if issues have been fixed.
