I don't even drink coffee, but I got a similar-looking one for my wife a couple of years ago looks the same except it doesn't have the black stripes around it. It's high-priced and I don't know why but it's stainless steel, not aluminum, takes a high polish, nice looking. But the main thing is, my wife loves it she has espresso twice a day, and for awhile she kept trying to use her Saeco machine, but it always needed expensive repairs and was kind of a hassle to use. For the last few months she's been using just this little pot, twice daily, it's fast and simple and works perfectly. There's no big production number required to get espresso into her system (that's good for me, too!). She can do without the crema, and she finds it makes as good or better espresso than she can buy anywhere. I could have gotten her a cheaper one that works just as well, probably, but this was a special gift so I didn't mind the extra cost. She loved that it's in MoMA. It's that kind of thing that makes a gift out of the ordinary.

Best stove top coffee top pot that I have used. I have tried 7-8 over the past 10 years. The end product may not be be an expresso by some standards, but it it will make 2 cups of hardy French or Italian roast. Compared to the competition, they last forever!! Most of the competition require parts replacement or use too much aluminum in their construction (shortens top top life). Pricey BUT, the Alessi folk's have figured it out.

Aerolatte Cafe Porcellana Espresso

This Espresso Pot brought back memories of a smaller pot I used to have that my parents brought back from Italy for me many years ago.

Unfortunately I lost the pot in a divorce settlement and have been unable to find one or anything similar until now.

After reading the previous review I was a bit hesitant to try the Cafe Porcellana stove top espresso maker but between my nostalgia and the reputation of Aerolatte I purchased it.

To my surprise and excitement the Espresso Pot worked wonderfully.

I didn't find anything wrong with the construction of this item. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, just fill the bottom vessel with water and fill the funnel shaped filter with coffee, Screw on the top portion and place on the stovetop. In minutes the espresso brews up from the bottom through the spout to the Porcelain pot.

What a wonderful cup of coffee it made, I was so excited I decided to make another pot and made a cup of cappuccino with the Aerolatte Hot, another purchase I made along with the Cafe Porcllana. Bravo Aerolatte!!Aerolatte Hot Milk Warmer and Frother

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago for a birthday present. It ended up being a joke. The black plastic on the spout was cut unevenly and the threading was basically non-existent. You could slide the spout loosely in and out. The paint was uneven and coming off around to top of the basin where you put water in to be heated, and there was black tar-like substance inside of the part where water goes; it left a greasy film even after being washed. The consensus was, "This does not appear to be food safe". I hope nobody else tries to make coffee with one of these. I cannot imagine selling such a thing. There should be a "from China, no quality control, use at your own risk", warning on the label, and on Amazon's seller page.

I love this little pot. I have been using it for about a month and it makes a great espresso quick and easy. I used to have something similar years ago and I was happy to find this one. I agree with the reviewer that said the instructions are easy to follow. I guess the other reviewer must have just gotten a bad one. Happens I guess. Mine is sturdy and well made. I have ordered one for my Aunt who loves espresso too! Thanks for a great product

Very cute, works well until you pour from the pot. It dribbles everywhere! This product should have been better designed.

if you love an excellent cup of coffee but don't want to use the "standard" aluminum moka pot for whatever reason THIS is the pot for you.

Do you live alone? Are you the only coffee drinker in the house? Do large portions of your coffee go down the drain? Then this is perfect. I gave it a 4 because I really do not like the mug, but that is another thing, you can use any mug. Measure the water with the alternate mug, pour it in, put the coffee in the little wire basket and flip it on. You have coffee in about 5 minutes. Great of office, dorm rooms, bachelors/ettes and lonely guys like me!

this is a sweet coffee maker for a dorm room. it is small [this is a plus, as coffe makers arent allowed in my dorm!], and has a cup WITH A LID [great to take to class]. one full cup is ready in 2-3 mins!! it is sort of noisy, thats my only complaint. and the black color makes it harder to clean when dirty. else, is great! imagine all the money saved instead of buying coffee twice a day from starbucks!!

There are so many little engineering considerations put into this little coffee maker: The little handle to remove the filter basket (well done); the spout automatically returns to it's proper placement after filling water reservoir; and the sleek design. Forget the plastic travel mug except for maybe adding the water, and I use my own trusty mug in it's place for sipping coffee. The one flaw that is glaring is that there is no automatic shutoff when the coffee is brewed. That is definitely a safety hazard. It's no good saying, you'll always check to see it's turned off, because you won't. I would happily pay a few dollars more if an automatic shutoff were included. As for the Black and Decker counterpart that's no good at all. In fact, many stores refuse to carry the thing because of all the returns. So, this is the best bet for the time being and we'll hope Toastess fixes the shut off problem. For those of you who hate old coffee and really just want a nice freshly brewed cuppa at a reasonable price, this is a good thing.

I've had this coffee maker for about 6 months now. This is exactly what I wanted. A way to make good coffee, the strength I like, but only 1 cup. You must use regular ground coffee, then you can make it as strong as you'd like. The cup is odd shaped with a handle that doesn't fit in my car cup holder, so I use it as a sort of cafe and pour it into another mug (which it fills) and rinse this one out for the next day's coffee. It has it's own filter so no more paper ones. It's just what I wanted and needed. Money WELL spent!
